About old

My name is Jim Redgewell and I'm a Singer/Songwriter.

I do not recommend D/A Music Group.  They are out to make money from naïve musicians.

I have many songs on the Internet, some on the Major outlets such as iTunes and Spotify, and others on Sound Cloud and mp3science.com.

In June 2016 I signed up with D/A Music Group and have recorded 2 songs:

Morning Song - released on 3 April 2017
Never Stop Thinking - due for release on 6 September 2017

Since July 2017 I have been releasing more songs with Record Union.  At this date 23 August 2017 and updated 18 September 2017, I have the following songs released:

Lovely Woman
Crystal
Until That Man Came Along
Lovely Samantha
England
A Bit Of Alright

The information below is a short biography to be used by D/A Music.

At the age of 22 I took up the guitar after a friend brought a guitar into work. After just a few years I took up playing Bass Guitar and played in many bands. When John Lennon died in 1980, I decided to take up songwriting. My first songs were quite bad, but I eventually got the hang of it. I continued to study the guitar and became quite good. Although I continued to play in bands and perform solo, there were many gaps in my music career due to work and family problems.

My main problems were due to living in a poor working class broken home. My childhood was Hell and to emphasize the point, my father committed suicide when I was 8, and one of my sisters did the same when I was 12. Eventually, after many attempts to get on with my family, I gave up.

I wrote 'Morning Song' in 1994 and put it on mp3science.com in 2005. The song is always at the top of the statistics and search criteria.

I was living in Alecante, Spain from 1997 until 2000. From my window I could see the Aeroplanes flying in and out of Alecante airport. So that inspired me to start writing the song, 'Never Stop Thinking'. The first line of the verse, 'From my window I see the jet planes passing by' was how it started. The first recording of the song was this year 2016.

I'm often asked “What is your genre?”, but I like any music that has a nice melody and good lyrics. I've studied all styles of music, classical, jazz, flamenco, country, techno and more. My main instrument is the guitar, but I use synthesizers and technology. I also play keyboard and trumpet a little bit.
